STUDIO CITY : Laurel Terrace to Get 3 Speed Bumps
Speed bumps will be installed on Laurel Terrace Drive, a narrow residential street in Studio City that commuters use as a popular rush-hour shortcut, Councilman Michael Woo announced Monday.
Three bumps will be placed along the street where it runs between Ventura Boulevard and Laurel Canyon Road.
“These speed humps have one purpose--to slow down speeders,” Woo said in a news release. “There have been too many accidents here. It’s time to return Laurel Terrace to the people who live on this street.”
City crews will begin installing the bumps, warning signs and pavement markings Wednesday as part of a citywide experiment to determine the effectiveness of the speed deterrents.
