COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Chapman Wins Seventh Straight in Baseball
With two outs in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Chapman baseball team scored seven runs and went on to defeat Cal State Dominguez, 15-9, Wednesday at Chapman.
It was the Panthers’ seventh consecutive victory, matching their longest streak of the season.
Jason White and Buster Nietzke each drove in three runs and Larry Stahlhoefer had two doubles and two runs batted in for the Panthers (19-7). The Toros are 9-11.
In another nonconference baseball game:
Southern California College 7, Wisconsin Superior 1--Doug Rystrom pitched five shutout innings and drove in two runs for the host Vanguards (8-10-1). Teammate Steve Dolias was two for two, drove in two runs and stole three bases.
In nonconference men’s tennis:
Redlands 8, Southern California College 1--The doubles team of Dan McArthur and Mike West got the only victory for the Vanguards (2-8) at Redlands.
In nonconference women’s tennis:
Montana State 7, Cal State Fullerton 2--Roseann Alva won her singles match and teamed with Natalie Hastings to win at No. 1 doubles as the host Titans (0-12) remained winless.
