OXNARD : Man Found Shot to Death in Driveway
Police said an Oxnard man with “a background of violent crime and narcotics usage” was shot to death in the city’s La Colonia neighborhood Sunday night.
The body of Pedro (Flipper) Cardona Gomez, 35, was found about 10 p.m. in a driveway in the 300 block of Hayes Avenue, according to a statement by the Oxnard police major crimes unit.
A spokesman for the Ventura County coroner said an autopsy on Monday showed that Gomez died from a large caliber gunshot wound to the head. The spokesman declined to elaborate.
No witnesses to the shooting have come forward, police said.
