CARSON : 18 Baby Boas Stolen From Classroom
- Share via
Someone who obviously has no fear of snakes stole 18 baby boa constrictors from an elementary school classroom in Carson over the weekend, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies said.
Teacher Gary Finkel told deputies that the “babies were in a 10-gallon fish tank” when someone entered the locked classroom at Ambler Avenue Elementary School on East Sherman Drive and made off with them. The snakes are valued at $4,000, deputies said.
Just how the snake-napper managed to get away with the boas has not been determined, Sheriff’s Sgt. Brian Stover said.
Stover said the case will be turned over to the Carson sheriff’s station. “We all have certain things that we’re not too crazy about, and, for me, that’s snakes,” Stover said.
