GARDEN GROVE : Grant Sought for Child Care at School

Share

The Garden Grove Unified School District will seek a state grant of up to $300,000 for “Healthy Starts,” a program to provide child care at Clinton Elementary School.

The district board last week approved the grant application, which calls for $100,000 a year for three years.

Although the scope of the project is still being planned, Barbara Barnard, the district’s assistant superintendent of elementary education, said it may provide parenting classes and other services in collaboration with public service agencies and private groups including the Campfire Girls. The school is at 13641 Clinton St.
