Father of Robbery Suspect Is Arrested

GARDEN GROVE — A Midway City man was arrested after he tried to persuade a homeowner to testify that his son was not among the youths who had robbed the homeowner’s family, police said Monday.

Co Van Vo, 54, father of 19-year-old Thi Nguyen Vo, was arrested Sunday afternoon as he stood outside the Elizabeth Place home where a family was held at gunpoint by six youths late Thursday night, police said.

Co Vo went to the home twice Sunday and spoke to the couple, Lt. Chuck Gibbs said. Although there was no direct threat, the couple told police that they felt there might be retribution if they did not tell Co Vo that they would change their testimony against his son.
