Elysian Park : Slaying Under Investigation

Share

Los Angeles police were investigating the March 18 fatal stabbing of a 38-year-old man who was hiking through Elysian Park near the Los Angeles Police Academy, but no arrests had been made by early this week.

Jeffrey Gordon Anthony, who lived near the southwest section of Elysian Park, stumbled out of the bushes last week near Park Row Drive and the Pasadena Freeway (110), then collapsed from a chest wound, Sgt. Ron Whitt said.

Anthony was rushed to County-USC Medical Center but died soon after he arrived, Whitt said. There were no witnesses to the late-afternoon attack, and no motive was immediately apparent, investigators said.
