From Times Staff and Wire Reports

The Marin Municipal Water District has decided to end water rationing because reservoirs are full for the first time in five years. The district’s five-member board voted unanimously to halt the 25% voluntary rationing that has been in effect since 1986. The vote means that the district’s 170,000 customers in central and southern Marin County can ease some of the harsher measures they’ve taken to save water, such as letting their gardens dry up, said district spokesman Jules Tham. Filled by winter rains, the district’s seven reservoirs are at 91% capacity, 5% above normal.
