A missing 56-year-old Cerritos woman was found shot to death in her car, which was parked behind a Loma Portal dry cleaning shop, San Diego police said Sunday.

Bo Im Ko, who, along with her husband, owned and ran a doughnut shop in the 15000 block of South Avalon Boulevard in Gardena, was last seen alive Thursday morning when she withdrew several thousand dollars in cash to use in a check cashing business, police said.

At 4:27 p.m. Saturday, employees at the San Diego dry cleaning store in the 3600 block of Midway Drive called police because an unfamiliar car had been parked in the workers’ area for several days.

Police found Ko’s concealed body in the passenger seat. She had been shot three times in the head with a small-caliber gun.

Police believe robbery may have been the motive for Ko’s slaying. The money was not found with her in the car, police said.
