City, school and emergency response officials will stage a mock earthquake today to demonstrate the services available at Orange County’s first regional Search and Rescue Training Center.

Public safety officials are encouraging residents to attend the event, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the former Rancho View School site, on Warner Avenue at B Street, one block east of Beach Boulevard. Admission is free.

Participants will learn a variety of emergency response skills, including how to turn off a household gas meter and how to treat badly injured people.
