Developing Closed School Site May Be Problematic for Surrounding Area

Do any of the members of the Huntington Beach school districts, which are so eager to sell off closed schools, understand that while there may be declining enrollment now, a new generation will eventually move in (or grow up) in the neighborhoods, and school populations will rise again? School space once sold off is much more expensive to reclaim.

Or will they continue to close schools and increase overcrowding in the remaining ones until there are 50 or 60 students per class? Long-term capital assets should not be sold off to pay short-term operating costs.
