SAN DIEGO : 2 Women Killed When Car Hits Tree
Two women were killed Sunday morning when the car in which they were riding struck a tree on Old San Pasqual Road near the San Diego Wild Animal Park, police said.
The accident occurred shortly after 10 a.m. half a mile west of California 78. Police said the car was going 70 to 90 m.p.h. when the driver lost control on a curve.
The male driver and one male passenger were taken to Palomar Hospital, where they were treated and released, a spokeswoman said.
The names of the dead women were not immediately released. Investigators said the four people in the car appeared to be in their late teens.
The San Diego Police Department is investigating, the spokesman said.
