Mike Crawford was named vice president-general manager...

Mike Crawford was named vice president-general manager of GTE Telephone Operations’ western region, which serves nearly 5 million customers in California and six other states. The company is a unit of GTE Corp.

Crawford, who will continue to work at GTE’s Thousand Oaks office, previously was vice president-general manager of GTE California. He succeeded Charlie Liekweg, who resigned in March to become an executive of Digital Systems International.
