BASEBALL: DAILY REPORT : ANGELS
Rodgers, beginning his first full season as the Angels’ manager, said he expects to feel some jitters today as game time approaches.
“To come back to the club I played with for eight years and that I had a long affiliation with as a player and a manager is special. Plus, the phone is ringing with people calling for tickets all the time. I go from no requests in Montreal to maybe 60 or 100 requests here. But I hope they’re still calling in August and September.”
Former Angel Kirk McCaskill, who signed with the White Sox as a free agent in December, said his return to Anaheim Stadium for a workout Monday rekindled fond memories but sparked no regrets.
“It’s a little bit disorienting,” said McCaskill, who signed a three-year, $7-million contract. “I still feel I did the right thing for me.”
