Two federal correctional officers were arrested Wednesday in connection with the alleged robbery and kidnaping of a 33-year-old woman, San Diego police said.

Vernon Kearney, 29, and Demitri Madison Jordan, 27, both of San Diego, were taken into custody about 1 p.m. at the Metropolitan Correctional Center.

They drove up to the woman March 19, offering to pay her for sex, police said.

Police say the woman, who was walking on the 3200 block of Ocean View Boulevard about midnight, accepted the offer and the group drove to a house in North Park, where both men had sex with her.

Afterward, one of the men allegedly produced a badge and a gun and robbed her of more than $50. When the men were leaving, the victim got into their car, believing she would be returned to Ocean View Boulevard, police said.

When the woman realized that the men were not returning her, she repeatedly asked to be released but was refused, police said.

The woman grabbed a jacket belonging to one of the men and jumped from the car when it slowed on Palm Avenue at Interstate 805 in National City, police said.

The jacket, bearing a federal Bureau of Prisons patch, led police to the suspects.
