GARDEN GROVE : City Wants Tidings of Bard on Freeway

Share

The City Council this week said it will ask the state to erect two signs on the Garden Grove Freeway pointing out that the city is the home of the Shakespeare Festival.

Council members voted Tuesday to ask Caltrans to put up signs near the Euclid Street off-ramps in both directions of the freeway directing visitors to the festival grounds at Acacia Parkway and Main Street.

They cited the posting of freeway signs for Little Saigon in Westminster and the Richard Nixon Library & Birthplace in Yorba Linda as precedents for their request. Supporters say they believe the signs will boost the city’s cultural image.
