Reliving Days of a Park’s Bright Past

Share

Reading Dianne Walta Hart’s “Watching the Park Go Dark” (First Person, March 27) brought back many memories.

When I was a little girl in the 1930s my grandmother would take me to Westlake Park, now MacArthur Park. It was a wonderful place. We would feed the ducks and walk through the park. The highlight was piloting a paddle boat on the lake.

How sad it is to read what has become of the park. What a shame other children can’t enjoy it the way I did. ZELDA SHELTON
