Walk in the Woods: Rock singer Don Henley brought in celebrity friends to help him fight for his favorite cause--preserving Walden Woods, former domain of Henry David Thoreau. Henley and actors Ed Begley Jr. and Harry Hamlin were in Boston on Saturday seeking support for the Walden Tree Project, an effort to sell red maple and birch saplings grown from seeds taken from Walden Woods. The proceeds will go toward preserving Walden Woods from developers. “What’s important to remember is that Walden Woods is the birthplace or cradle of the modern conservation movement,” Henley said.
