ORANGE : Jogger, 20, Who Was Struck by Car Dies
A 20-year-old jogger who was struck by a car last week in Placentia died Sunday from injuries suffered in the accident, authorities said.
David Schneider of Fullerton had been in a coma at UCI Medical Center in Orange since the accident last Friday. He died early Sunday morning, said hospital spokeswoman Elaine Beno.
Schneider was not identified until late Saturday night when his father came into the hospital, Beno said.
“Apparently, he was supposed to meet his dad for the weekend but did not show up,” she said. “A friend found out that the father was looking for him and started calling hospitals in Orange County.”
Schneider was hit by a car going south on Kraemer Boulevard just south of Livingston Avenue, police said. Police have identified the driver of the car, and the accident is under investigation.
