Escape Attempt Foiled in Vista
Sheriff’s deputies have foiled an apparent escape attempt at County Jail in Vista, the Sheriff’s Department said Sunday.
During routine inspection of inmate quarters between Saturday night and Sunday morning, deputies found evidence and damage consistent with escape planning, authorities said.
A search was conducted and a lockdown initiated, and the jail returned to normal operations by 7 p.m. Sunday, deputies said.
