Plane Crash Kills Family of Five
An Oakland family of five died in a plane crash in the Sierra Nevada after a weekend ski trip, Placer County officials said Monday.
Authorities initially reported one person killed in the Sunday afternoon plane crash. But Inspector Johnnie Smith of the Placer County coroner’s office said that when investigators got to the wreckage they discovered four more bodies.
Placer County Sheriff’s Lt. Eric Engellenner identified the victims as Charles Alex Gregory, 40; his wife, Angela Louise Gregory, 37; and their children, Alexis, 8; Samantha, 4, and Charles Jr., 2.
The family was headed for Oakland when the plane crashed.
