Huntington Beach Wins on No-Hitter
Jon Ward pitched a no-hitter Wednesday, striking out 10 in Huntington Beach’s 9-1 victory over Bolsa Grande in the seventh-place game of the Pride of the Coast Tournament at Corona del Mar High.
Ward (7-0) walked three and lost his shutout in the sixth. Bryan Kim walked, stole second and scored on two passed balls by Bryan Feathers.
Mike Moutrey hit a bases-empty home run in the third inning for the Oilers (15-3), Daedelow Craig scored twice and drove in two runs and Feathers drove in three runs with a seventh-inning triple.
Bolsa Grande is 4-12.
