Flights Out of Long Beach Airport
We would like to state emphatically that self-proclaimed California Heights “spokesman” Mike Donelon does not speak for all California Heights residents when he states that residents “would like to have zero flights.” Long Beach airport provides valuable tax dollars to our city, convenience to local air travelers and jobs for residents in support businesses as well as commercial and general aviation businesses. As Long Beach taxpayers and residents of California Heights (we live directly off the end of runway 25R) we welcome the airport and its activity. We would like ask Donelon and others who complain about the airport, “If you don’t like airplane noise, why did you move into a neighborhood adjacent to an airport? After all, it has been here since 1923, have you?”
