Anti-Citizen Move in Huntington Beach

Share

The Huntington Beach City Council has induced a subtle form of censorship--in the midnight hour--by making an emergency vote decision to move public comments to the end of City Council meetings.

Now can anyone figure this out? The Huntington Beach City Council actually considers “public comments” an item of prominent importance--enough that they felt the need to call an emergency vote to move this imperative part of the agenda to possibly the very end of City Council meetings. In other words, by moving (the time for) public comments, citizens such as you and I will deliberately have to sit and wait until all business items scheduled on the agenda are conducted before we can bring items of interest before council.

Evidently, this shows that certain city officials colluded with each other in a blatant attempt to filter out the very citizens they represent and to speed up the process for their own convenience.

By successfully moving public comments around, making it that much more difficult for citizens to come before the council, we see a direct and deliberate stance by the council to continue to reinforce its anti-resident move.

Remember, these are elected city officials. Therefore, they work for us, the taxpayers. But when the powers that be undermine the very citizens they represent, then even more than ever before do voices need to be heard.
