Stolen Lamborghini Prototype Recovered

Police found a prototype Lamborghini sports car Friday, five days after it was stolen by masked gunmen on its way to southern Italy for tests.

The four thieves, armed with automatic weapons, had forced a transporter truck to stop near the town of Brindisi and had removed the 12-cylinder car. The truck driver was dumped in nearby woodland.

Lamborghini reported the theft, which happened Monday, after waiting in vain for a telephone call from the thieves to fix a ransom for the return of the $240,000 car.
