BASEBALL DAILY REPORT : ANGELS : It’s the Same Old Story for Robinson

Share

Pitcher Don Robinson, put on the disabled list Wednesday because of spasms in the lower-right part of his back and an inflamed left hip, was to be examined by Dr. Robert Watkins today in Los Angeles. Robinson, who has had problems with his hip for years, wasn’t expecting anything new.

“They’re going to tell me it’s arthritis and maybe they’ll give me a shot,” he said. “There’s not much you can do for it.”

Robinson’s listing on the DL is the eighth of his career. His past ailments: shoulder surgery (1980); cut fingers on his right hand (1981); right biceps tendinitis (1983, twice); strained ligaments right knee (1986); knee surgery (1990); pulled hamstring (1991).
