Thanks to a federal grant and matching Los Angeles County funds, more than $100,000 worth of improvements will be made to a camping and picnic area and botany trail in the 180-acre county park at Eaton Canyon.

A $53,250 grant from the federal Land and Water Conservation Fund Program is to be matched with discretionary funds from County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich’s office, park Supervisor Mickey Long said.

The improvements will include new picnic tables and increased accessibility for the disabled, he said. Long said he did not know when the work will begin.
