BURBANK : Boulevard Signals to Be Synchronized

Share

In an effort to improve traffic safety and ease congestion, the Burbank City Council has approved an agreement that will computerize and synchronize traffic signals along Victory Boulevard.

The agreement between Burbank and the city of Los Angeles will allow installation of an automated traffic surveillance and control system along Victory between Clybourn Avenue and the Golden State Freeway.

Officials said Victory is a major roadway and that the new traffic signal system will make the traffic flow more efficient.

The city of Los Angeles will operate the signals all along the Victory corridor, including eight intersections in Burbank.

The $500,000 project will be financed through a grant from the Federal Highway Administration, officials said. Some of the project work has already been completed and final installation work is expected to begin next year.
