** The Soup Dragons, “Hot-wired,” Mercury. A deejay once extolled the Scottish group’s songwriting, and then by way of example played what was actually a Rolling Stones composition they had recorded, “I’m Free.” An album later, it remains the best song in the band’s repertoire. The shuffling, dance-rock fusion on “Hotwired” works only occasionally, most imaginatively on “Divine Thing.” Album briefs, rated on a scale of one star (poor) to four stars (excellent)
