BASEBALL DAILY REPORT : AROUND THE MAJOR LEAGUES : Hatcher Goes to the Disabled List
Billy Hatcher is the latest member of the Cincinnati Reds to make the 15-day disabled list. The Reds added Hatcher to the list Tuesday and activated Glenn Braggs.
Hatcher pulled a muscle in his left groin trying to make a play in Monday night’s game at Pittsburgh.
The Reds have had eight players on the disabled list this season. The four still disabled include Hal Morris, with a broken right hand; Barry Larkin, sprained left knee; Jeff Reed, undergoing elbow surgery; and Hatcher.
The Montreal Expos placed outfielder Ivan Calderon on the 15-day disabled list with a strained muscle in his right rib cage and called up third baseman Jerry Goff from Class AAA Indianapolis.
