Marinovich Pleads Guilty, Gets Probation on Disturbance Charge

Raider quarterback Todd Marinovich pleaded guilty Wednesday to a misdemeanor disturbance charge and was put on one-year unsupervised probation and fined $705.
South Bay Municipal Judge Thomas Sokolov sentenced Marinovich after the player’s attorney entered the guilty plea. Marinovich, who was not in court, was ordered to pay the fine no later than June 8.
Marinovich, 22, was cited on Halloween night in nearby Manhattan Beach, authorities said.
“They cited him for violation of the city noise ordinances,” Sgt. Jack Zea of the Manhattan Beach Police Department said after the incident. “They were called out because of loud music.”
After sitting on the Raider bench most of last season as a rookie, Marinovich started the last game of the regular season and the team’s only playoff game--both losses to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Last month, Marinovich had drug possession charges dropped after completing a one-year drug rehabilitation program. That charge came while he was still a student at USC.
