Assessing Causes of Unrest Sparked by King Verdicts

Share

People in Los Angeles and the surrounding cities must wake up. Must we let a few thugs run amok in our cities creating havoc and massive destruction?

We must not let these thugs who are the minority look like they represent the majority who are respectable, law-abiding citizens. Granted, many people are upset and outraged by the outcome of the Rodney G. King trial, but the way to handle this is by cool decisions that lead to progress for all races. It is a time for healing and rebuilding.

During these riots, I’ve seen parents and children looting all stores. There was no exception to race or age; it was a free-for-all, and only the animals in our society participated. The majority stayed home till things cooled down, and then with their children came out and began to clean the town.

Society is dirty because a few try to make it that way. If you know or saw someone on television who participated in any of these horrendous activities and you recognized them, please turn them in.

It’s time to rebuild, and people should unite and go the only way that is left and that’s forward. I pray that all races donate funds, food and shelter for those injured, those who are without food and shelter, and for the funerals of the people who died in this tragedy.
