Improved trails--Work on several trails at the Oak Canyon Nature Center in Anaheim has been completed. Extensive work was done on Quail Trail, Roadrunner Ridge, Wren Way and Bluebird Lane to make them safer and easier to hike.
The center consists of coastal sage scrub and chaparral habitats, and people hiking along its trails can spot many bird and reptile species of note, including the cactus wren, rufous-crowned sparrow and coast horned lizard. It is at 6700 E. Walnut Canyon Road, Anaheim.
Bay tour--A naturalist-led walk of Upper Newport Bay Regional Park and Ecological Reserve will be held Saturday.
The tour begins at 9 a.m. and the cost is $2.50.
Those who would like to participate are asked to meet at Backbay and Eastbluff drives in Newport Beach. For more information, call (714) 640-6746.
