Lockheed Recognized for Air Quality Efforts

Lockheed Advanced Development Co., known as the Skunk Works, was recognized by the state’s South Coast Air Quality Management District for its efforts to improve air quality in Southern California.
The AQMD, which recognized six local companies, singled out for praise the air-pollution control and abatement system in Lockheed’s non-metallic manufacturing center at Palmdale. Lockheed said it had spent more than $8.5 million for environmental control equipment at that facility.
