Robbers threatened a clerk at a Simi Valley motor lodge with an Uzi-type submachine gun early Tuesday morning before fleeing with $350 in cash, Simi Valley police said.
Two men entered the front office of the Travelodge on Erringer Road about 12:20 a.m. and asked clerk David Woods about a room, authorities said. One of the men then pulled what Woods described as an Uzi-type gun from under his jacket and ordered him to the floor, police said.
The men removed $300 from a register and $50 from Woods’ wallet and fled, police said. Woods, 52, of Simi Valley, was unhurt, police said.
