EL GATO LOCO: Officials in San Clemente are trying to figure out how many live lions had been kept at a San Clemente health food store (B1), but the problem at the city animal shelter is more immediate: What do you feed the seven lion cubs in custody there? . . . Turns out to be simple, says a shelter spokesman. They eat take-out. . . . “They each eat a chicken a day. We just go down to the grocery store, buy seven whole chickens and throw them in the cage.”
