Domestic Hotel Chain Discounts

A number of hotel chains are offering some good discounts for travel to various North American destinations.

Omni Hotels has discount rates of 30%-50% off at 41 properties in the United States and Mexico. The discounts apply to Friday and Saturday nights through June 25, daily from June 26 through Sept. 7.

The discounted rates apply per room, not per person. Up to four guests can stay in a room at the same rate. Children under 17 stay free when sharing the room with at least one adult.

Rates typically range from $59-$149, but most hotels have rates between $59 and $99. For example, travelers can get a room at the Omni Parker House in Boston for $89 on a single- or double-occupancy basis, compared to the regular rate of $185.

Inter-Continental Hotels is offering a “Spectacular Summer Options” program through Sept. 7 at 10 properties in North America that provides up to 50% off regular rates. In addition, guests receive a choice of upgrade to a suite, a $25-per-room food and beverage credit at the hotel’s restaurants, free overnight parking for the length of stay, or an adjoining guest room at 50% off the discounted rate. Guests are guaranteed at least one of these options. Children under 14 can stay at no charge when sharing the room with an adult.

Rates, single or double occupancy, range from $89-$199. Most rates are more than $100 at the upscale hotels. But the discounted rate at the New Orleans hotel is $99, compared to the regular rate of $200.

Inter-Continental has two properties in Chicago and one each in Maui, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., Miami, New York, New Orleans, Toronto and Montreal.

Wyndham Hotels has a “Three Day Weekend Program” at 36 outlets in the United States and the Caribbean/Bahamas that offer a three-night stay for the price of two. Guests who stay Friday and Saturday nights receive Sunday night free. The program, which includes discounted weekend rates as well, is in effect through Dec. 30.

Wyndham’s Nashville hotel, for example, offers a weekend rate for Friday and Saturday nights of $98 ($49 per night), single or double occupancy, compared to the regular rate of $90 per night.

Wyndham has hotels in such cities as Palm Springs, Phoenix, Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, Milwaukee and Washington, D.C. Other outlets include Montego Bay, Jamaica; Barbados, and Nassau, Bahamas.
