Dallas-based Southwest Airlines declared a 2-for-1 stock split and increased its quarterly dividend by 12% to 5.6 cents a share, payable July 15 to shareholders of record July 1. The boosted dividend will be effective with the stock split. . . . Continental Airlines said it will lease 20 gates at the new Denver International Airport, retaining its position as one of two airlines that use Denver as a hub. . . . ITT Sheraton Corp., a unit of ITT Corp., laid off 400 middle- and upper-level managers to smooth contact between home office executives and managers around the world. The move will cut costs by about $50 million, the company said.
