West Covina : Hazardous Waste Collection

A household hazardous waste roundup will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Hughes Training Inc. parking lot, 1200 E. San Bernardino Road.

The roundup, sponsored by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works, is for residents of Azusa, Baldwin Park, Bradbury, Covina, Duarte, El Monte, Glendora, City of Industry, Irwindale, La Puente, San Dimas, Walnut and West Covina.

Types of waste that will be accepted include leftover solvents, paint, varnishes, garden pesticides, old car batteries and motor oil. The limit is 5 gallons or 50 pounds of waste per vehicle. It is illegal to dispose of these types of items by throwing them in the trash or down the drain.
