A 16-year-old Anaheim driver and her passenger were injured Wednesday after being thrown from their car, which had swerved into the path of an oncoming truck, causing a four-vehicle collision, police said.

Police said the driver, whose name is being withheld because she is a minor, was traveling eastbound on Katella Avenue near Euclid Street about 3 p.m. when she realized she was about to strike a curb.

She swerved into the westbound lane and collided with a truck, police said. The car spun, ejecting the driver and her 15-year-old passenger. Neither was wearing seat belts, police said.

The truck, which had continued westbound, then rolled over onto a car parked against the north curb on Katella Avenue. That car, in turn, slammed into the back of second car parked in front of it. The truck landed on its top.

The truck driver was wearing a seat belt and escaped uninjured, police said.

Both teen-agers were treated at the scene by paramedics and hospitalized.

Police said the accident is still under investigation.
