Garry St. Jean, an assistant coach with the Golden State Warriors the last four seasons, was hired to coach the Sacramento Kings.
St. Jean replaces Rex Hughes, who finished the season as interim coach after Dick Motta was fired.
St. Jean’s last head coaching job was at Chicopee High in Massachusetts, where he worked for eight years.
Former Clipper coach Mike Schuler and former New Jersey Net coach Dave Wohl will serve as St. Jean’s assistants in Sacramento.
The Kings also announced the promotion of Jerry Reynolds, the team’s player personnel director, to general manager.
