A SPECIAL REPORT: Memorial Day
MORE THAN NUMBERS: The Vietnam War is the first in which casualty numbers for Orange County were officially recorded, and those victims--330--are memorialized with plaques both at the Civic Center in Santa Ana and at Huntington Beach High. . . . But at services throughout the county today, the dead from all of America’s wars will be remembered. At Memory Garden Memorial Park in Brea, 972 flags donated by veterans’ families will be flown for its ceremony. . . . “If you’re patriotic at all, it’s a moving experience to see,” says the park’s Melody Wines.
