Is a San Francisco agency that rates pro basketball players’ advertising allure trying to bring back Cleveland jokes?
Foote, Cone & Belding says Brad Daugherty, the star center for the Cleveland Cavaliers, rates a big zero in the Advertisers’ Professional Scouting Report of National Basketball Assn. players.
“Sorry,” says the report’s rap sheet on Daugherty, “but you simply can’t make it in endorsements when you’re playing for Cleveland.” Daughterty’s Cavaliers are battling endorsement superstar Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls in the Eastern Conference playoffs.
But the Los Angeles Lakers’ new coach, Randy Pfund, could make a career endorsing just one product, says the report. Pfund “would be pfine endorsing Pfizer pfaucets.”
