Claremont : New Fee Schedule for Parks
Large gatherings and groups from outside the city will have to pay more to use Claremont parks under a new policy the City Council approved to help recover costs from heavy use.
Groups of 50 or more people will be required to pay a fee to cover wear and tear on the parks and equipment, as well as maintenance costs. Groups from outside Claremont will be charged an additional 20% above direct costs to use the parks and facilities.
The policy also requires large groups to reserve a park at least two weeks in advance. Parties of 150 or more will have to make a reservation a month before an event.
The new fee schedule and when it will begin have not been decided.
