Furon Co. Posts Profit in 1st Quarter

Furon Co., a manufacturer of industrial components, posted net income of $2.2 million, equal to 26 cents a share, for the first quarter of fiscal 1993, up 38% from the $1.6 million, or 19 cents a share, recorded for the corresponding period last year. Sales for the quarter ended May 2 declined 2%, to $79.4 million from $81.4 million.
