The 2,500 San Diego employees of General Dynamics who are working on advanced cruise missiles can count on keeping their jobs here at least through the end of the contract in August, 1993, even if Hughes Aircraft consolidates the rest of the missile business elsewhere, Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-Coronado) said Friday.

Hunter and other members of San Diego’s congressional delegation met with Hughes Aircraft Chief Executive Michael Armstrong on Friday in Los Angeles. Hughes announced earlier this month that it will buy General Dynamics’ missile business and consolidate it with its own.
