ROAD TO RIO: Retired college professor William S. Caldwell of Leisure World Laguna Hills has both a zeal to save the Earth and an itchy foot, says best friend Nancy Zeiger. So Caldwell has taken off for Brazil to participate in non-government meetings this week related to Earth Summit, the U.N. Conference on Environment and Development. The co-founder of Orange County Enemies of Pollution carries with him a scroll with the names of 300 young environmentalists from Mission Viejo’s Linda Vista school.
