Police Chase Trio in Robbery, Catch 2
Two men suspected of robbing a Jack-in-the-Box restaurant in Fullerton were arrested late Sunday after leading police on a chase on the Santa Ana Freeway.
A third suspect fled on foot and was still being sought, Fullerton Police Sgt. Ron Gillett said.
The incident began about 8 p.m., Gillett said, when the three robbed the Jack-in-the-Box at Gilbert Street and Orangethorpe Avenue. Responding to the robbery call, police spotted the men in a car half a mile away and pursued them.
The chase continued north on the Santa Ana Freeway for about 10 miles at speeds of up to 90 m.p.h., then the alleged robbers pulled off the freeway into a residential neighborhood, abandoned their car and ran in three different directions, Gillett said.
Police were able to make the two arrests with the aid of a helicopter, he said.
