Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department detectives are investigating the stabbing deaths of two unidentified young men found early Tuesday morning near the entrance to a Zuma Beach parking lot, a department spokesman said.

Coroner’s investigators were running fingerprint checks trying to determine the identity of the victims.

Both were described as Latino males. One was 5 feet, 4 inches tall and about 25 to 30 years old. The other was 5 feet tall and about 20 to 25 years old, a coroner’s spokeswoman said.

Deputies patrolling the Malibu area found the bodies shortly after 3 a.m. after stopping to investigate a parked car, said Deputy Hal Grant, a department spokesman. The bodies were discovered sprawled outside a public restroom, he said.

Grant said detectives say there is no apparent connection between these slayings and the daytime stabbing death of a 43-year-old Northridge woman, Jacqueline Kirkham, on May 28, 1991. Kirkham was found in a restroom several hundred yards from where the two men were found Tuesday.

Two teen-age suspects believed responsible for the Kirkham killing were arrested and are in custody.
