Gulls owner Fred Comrie announced Tuesday that his brothers, Bill and John, along with former Edmonton Oilers owner Bill Hunter, have entered into a partnership.

Fred and Bill Comrie each will own 40% of the IHL club, while John Comrie and Hunter will own 10% each. Hunter will also work as vice president of operations/marketing.

“I think we would have done great without my brothers,” Fred Comrie said, “but together we’ll be very attractive to the NHL.”

The Gulls also appointed Steve Violetta, 32, as marketing director. Violetta spent the past three seasons in the same capacity with the New Haven Nighthawks of the American Hockey League. Don Waddell, who served as vice president/general manager and head coach last season, is now vice president in charge of hockey operations.
